| Hanawalt is a small, neighborhood school with a history dating back to 1913. Built on a wooded hill in an established Des Moines neighborhood, the school has a beautiful natural setting with panoramic views of the western sky. The students (approximately 350 in number) come from a variety of backgrounds, some being third generation Hanawalt students. | |
